It’s that time of the year again.
The Foyle Hospice has announced that the 2013 Foyle Hospice Female Walk will take place on Sunday 16th June at 1:30pm.
This walk will follow the ‘all new route’ introduced last year - with the start point Templemore Sports Complex and the finish line at Ebrington Square via the Peace Bridge.
Last year entries to the sponsored walk were just shy of 5000 ladies so this year the big push is on to make it even bigger!
Speaking recently at the launch of the event on the Peace Bridge, Noel McMonagle, Community Fundraising Manger said: “The introduction of the new route last year was a great success. The city is experiencing a huge boost in walkers and runners taking to the pavements every single day/night so we are hoping to see that reflected in our Female Walk/Run this year.
“I must offer my sincere thanks to our key sponsors; Seagate and the Derry Journal, without their valued support we would not be able to provide such an event to the city. I really hope ladies throughout the city can come together take part in the walk.”
This year, as an added incentive to Foyle Hospice supporters, all participants in the four main Hospice walk/run’s between June - September that raise £25+ in sponsorship will be entered into a special draw to win a brand new car.
Entry is £7. Entry and sponsorship forms aare vailable from Foyle Hospice Fundraising Centre, 61 Culmore Road, 028 71359888 or Foyle Hospice Shop, Waterloo Place.
