The annual LASCO Maths Challenge takes place on February 1, 2013 and is open to all primary and post primary schools and colleges in Ireland, Britain and abroad.
This event raises money for the Latin American Street Children Organisation (LASCO) - a Derry based registered charity providing education and healthcare to impoverished street children in South America.
Pupils will have the opportunity to work together - using their skills in mathematics, problem solving and communication - in competition with pupils of a similar age and ability in other schools.
There are six different competition categories for pupils aged 7/8 years up to 16/17 years with prizes available to the winners of all categories.
A spokesperson said: “The competition is, above all, great fun - pupils love it.”
Teachers can register their school now on www.lascomaths.com where they will find all the information they need.
