With just days left to vote for the the Bogside and Brandywell Health Forum - nominees of a Lottery ‘Best Health Project’ award - people all over the North West are urged to lift their mobile or house-phones now and call 0844 836 9702 to register their vote!

The bid for the Lottery Award has been well supported in recent weeks, but every single vote is still crucial and the polls close at midnight this Sunday, July 22.

Tony Doherty, General Manager of the Health Forum, said that “many hundreds” of people have cast their votes in recent weeks.

“Our team of staff have collected votes in the streets and in shopping centres in recent weeks and it is clear that people are only too eager to vote. Our short-listing to the final ten in the ‘Best Health Project’ category is great news for us and great news for Derry. It will of course be even greater news for us if we qualify to the final three projects later in the year – hence the importance of people voting for us.”

Tony also outlined the reasons why voting for the local organisation is so important.

“Please vote for us because the Health Forum’s basic premise is that it is better for people to take more active control over their health, both mental and physical, rather than simply depend on doctors and other health professionals to determine their health for them.

“Please vote for us because we are a Derry-based healthy living centre and Derry has proven that it can box way above its weight when it comes to winning!”

You can still vote by calling 0844 836 9702 before midnight this Sunday. Calls cost 5p on landline and around 20p from a mobile.
