Last day of voting for Junk Kouture provincial final

Voting for Junk Kouture, the competition that involves students taking recycled ‘junk’ and creating a fashion outfit, closes later today after five days of voting.

The votes will now be counted up, and they will contribute 10% to the final score the dedicated students will receive in the provincial final.

Junk Kouture, now in its fifth year, challenges secondary level students to produce wearable fashion piece, and today is the last chance to vote for the dresses from Inishowen.

Out of the 320 dresses that entered the regional competition, 21 dresses from Inishowen are part of the special 80 that reached the provincial final.

This is being held in the Millennium Forum, Derry on the 9th March, and this is where the students will compete for the remainder of the marks.

The day inovolves an interview, displaying their dresses on the catwalk, and taking part in a performance.

‘Candy Yum Yum’ from Youthreach; ‘Looming Marvellous’, ‘Ticket to the Runway’, ‘Winging It’, ‘Puzzle Maker’ and ‘WireCan.net’ from Crana College; ‘Combustion’, ‘Reflection’, ‘Reclaimed’, ‘Caged Remnants’ and ‘Fallen Dancer’ from Scoil Mhuire; and ‘Clockwork Diva’, ‘Energy Ball’, ‘Plastic Fantastic’; ‘Smoke and Mirrors’, ‘Sheer Glass’, ‘Elemental Monumental’, ‘Paraboloid’, ‘Coffee Sensation’, ‘Acrylic in Blooms’ and ‘Doilies in Reverse’ from Carndonagh Community School are the dresses that have made to the Forum.

Voting closes at midnight tonight, and every of one of these students need your vote.

In order to vote, you must: Like the ‘Repak’ Facebook page, and click on the link provided.

You then click into the Northern section of voting.

Scroll down until you see the partciular dress and entry you would like to see do well, and vote.

You can only vote once before the deadline, so hurry.

Every school and entrant would be delighted with your vote and to do well in the finals.
