Politicians in Derry have condemned those behind the latest security alert in the city.
Rush hour traffic in and around the Buncrana Road was severely disrupted on Wednesday morning as PSNI and British Army Technical Officers carried out searches in the area.
A number of roads remained closed until late afternoon.
Sinn Fein councillor Elisha McCallion said those responsible had achieved nothing.
“Those behind the use of these devices need to seriously think about what they are doing.”
SDLP councillor Shauna Cusack said she was both “disgusted and angered.”
“The people responsible for this disruption have no care or concern for the people of this city.
Last week police urged people in the Whitehouse Road area of the city to be cautious after reports of a suspicious object being left in the area.
