The manageress of Alexander House sheltered housing complex, which was evacuated on Sunday night, has told the bombers; “Enough is enough...old people are the ones suffering.”
Mrs. Schwarz said: “We have 20 residents in our bedded care facility and 26 who use the sheltered living apartments, all of whom had to be helped out of the building. A lot of our residents were obviously distressed, many of them still are.” A total of 17 residents were evacuated to The Tower Hotel, the remainer opted to stay with friends or relatives overnight.
Asked if she a message for those responsible, Ms. Schwarz said; “I would ask them the same thing as everyone else. Enough is enough. Old people are suffering, people who should be allowed a bit of comfort at this stage in their lives.”
