Legendary sax player Jim McDermott joins Jazz Gazette

The North West’s best jazz quintet have a new member joining them for their summer season in the Alley Theatre in the form of legendary sax player Jim McDermott. Jim has been perfroming for over 40 years with the best in the business including the Dave Glover Show Band, Morcombe & Wise and Van Morrisson to name but a few. More recently Jim performs with Espresso Jazz and is a regular at the City of Derry Jazz Festival

Jazz Gazette are the longest and most established jazz band in the north west featuring Gerard Bradley, Mark Bradley, Peter Doherty and Aidan Dunphy. Gerard Bradley from Jazz Gazette commented ‘Unfortunately Gary Cox is unavailable for this summer’s jazz nights however we are delighted to be welcoming Jim to the group for the next seven weeks. I know audiences will be amazed at his talent and we cannot wait to perform with him. We are also delighted to be welcoming vocalists Joan Talbot and Triona Sweeny who will be popping in over the next couple of weeks as well as other special guest such as Michael Kielty. As always we are thrilled to be performing in the beautiful Alley Theatre and welcome anyone who would like to come along and perform with us.’
