Leisure centre swimming pool to close

The swimming pool in the Buncrana Leisure Centre will be closed to the public due to exploratory work being carried out before the renovations of the centre begin. The gym, shop and hall hire will remain open until work begins in March/April 2015.

Colaiste Chineal Eoghan, the Inishowen Irish Medium Secondary School invites pupils and parents to its Open Night on Thursday, 15th January at 7 p.m. at the school in the Tullyarvan Mill.

The HSE is providing a free self management course for people with long term health conditions and carers of those with long term health conditions. The course will run over six weekly sessions and will start on Friday, 9th January at 10 a.m. in the Inishowen Development Partnership office. Contact 9292770 for further details.

Mr. Sultan, Professor of Vascular Surgery, Galway Hospital is returning next month and is offering male patients over 70 years old the opportunity to have a life saving ultrasound of the aorta, the carotid arteries and femoral arteries. For more information telephone Anne Brogan, 9363611.

Sliabh Sneacht Centre’s Beginner Dancing Lessons with John and Jean - social, modern, olde time and 2 hand. These lessons are held every Thursday and will resume after the Christmas break on 8th January, 2015 from 8.30 – 10 p.m. All welcome.

Desertegney F.C. is having a Ceili and Old Time dance in Desertegney Hall on 9th January from 9 p.m. - 12 midnight. Admission is 5 deuro and includes supper. Music is by Duntally.

Dancing for Pleasure classes will take place in the Tullyarvan Mill on Mondays from 9 – 10.15 p.m. and in Desertegney Parish Hall with John and Breedge on Tuesdays from 9 – 10.15 p.m. All welcome.

Carndonagh Drama Club will present a final night of the John B. Keane play ‘Many Young Men of Twenty’ on Sunday 11th January in the Colgan Hall in Carn. Proceeds in aid of local charity. All welcome.

The Sacrament of Confirmation will be celebrated on Saturday, 16th May. There will be two ceremonies – St. Mary’s Oratory at 10.30 a.m. for children from Scoil Iosagain and 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s, Cockhill for St. Oran’s N.S., Scoil Naomh Iosaf, Scoil Naomh Padraig and St. Egney’s N.S.
