Congratulations to Deborah Cassidy, Lisfannon, and Derrin Cikoja, Queensland, Australia, who were recently married in the Chapel of Ease.

We offer our sympathy to the family and friends of Margaret McGrath, Fahan, who died during the week and to Joan McLaughlin, Carndonagh, (nee Bredin, Burt) on the death of her husband, Pat McLaughlin.

What better way to wish friends and family a Happy New Year than by giving them a copy of the fabulous The Burt, Inch and Fahan Calendar 2015. With brilliant photographs of the parish, it is now on sale at all the usual local outlets and the sacristies. Proceeds from the sale of the calendars will go to the St Aengus’ Church Restoration Fund and the Donegal and Foyle Hospices. A Table Quiz in aid of Muff scouts will be held in An Grianan hotel on Thursday, January 8. Everyone is very welcome.

Burt Bingo takes place every Tuesday evening at 9pm in St Mary’s Hall. A book and sheet cost 9 euro.

Here’s a date for the diary: St. Aengus NS will 40 years old in 2015 and a series of events are planned. There will be a concert by past and present pupils in the Halfway House on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 8.00pm and a Mass in St Aengus’ Church on Friday, March 20, 2015. There will also be a Gala Dinner in An Grianán Hotel, on Saturday, April 4, 2015. Tickets cost 25 euro and are available from the school on 074 9368352. It is hoped that a booklet will be produced and the school invites people to contribute and send in their memories to the school.

Old phones for donation to the Irish Autism Association can be left in Grant’s of Burt or phone 9368373.

The Pro-Life Trust Church Gate Collection will be held on January 3 and 4.

A new Baptismal Group was recently formed in the parish to help parents/guardians in the preparation for the reception of the first Sacrament of Initiation.

An Information Evening on Youth Ministry will take place on January 8, at 7.00pm, commencing with a meal in An Grianan Hotel, Burt. This is a joint effort with Raphoe Diocese. Send responses to: irishyoungpeople@gmail.com by Monday January 5, please.

The Diocesan Mass for those with special needs, and their families and friends, will be held in in St Joseph’s Church, Galliagh, on Saturday, March 14 March, at 3.00pm.
