Derry singer/songwriter Jessica Doherty has teamed up with Ruairi Connolly and the Owls to collaborate on the new single and music video ‘Lyin’ Eyes’.

Connolly was the bassist of alternative rock band ‘Furlo’ for several years prior to the band’s hiatus.

Following this, Ruairi began to pursue his solo work and headed into the studio to work on the project which culminated in the release of his debut album ‘Midnight Oil’ which received airplay on BBC Across the Line and Radio 1.

Ruairi came across Jessica Doherty after the release of her debut single ‘Wolves’.

“I’d heard her song and thought it was incredible. Peter Doherty (who produced the track) agreed with me that we had to have her sing on the song and we’re so happy that she did.”

Jessica was about to fly to Los Angeles to perform at the Generator NI showcase when her manager emailed her the track which she “fell in love with it”

“The production was perfect and I knew straight away that I’d love to perform on the track. The entire process was so easy and straightforward. I know we’re all really proud of the track”.

The music video was directed by local filmmaker Paul Martin Brown.

‘Lying Eyes’ is released via MPC Music Group on all major digital platforms, including iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp
