Limavady Borough Council will next month launch a mobile phone app they promise “will immerse tourists in the wealth of history and folklore surrounding Limavady and local towns”.
The launch of the new Limavady App and Podcast will take place on 20th April at the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre.
“This year we have an exciting new project finalised and ready to launch for the new season,” said a Council spokesperson.
“Recently developed by Awakin Ltd., the ‘Limavady Explore, See, Do ...’ mobile phone app and podcast, funded by the Rural Development Programme, will immerse tourists in the wealth of history and folklore surrounding Limavady and local towns. This innovative project will engage visitors, from near and far, to Explore, See, Do what the Borough of Limavady has to offer and lead users on a trail of discovery and enjoyment.”
Council say it is a new way to enjoy “one of the Causeway Coastal Route’s true gems”. Downloading the app provides a free Treasure Trek and Audio Tour.
The project has received investment from Arc north west under the Rural Development Programme’.
