Limavady men are world class in Brazil

Two Roe Valley men are preparing to compete in Brazil against some of the best in their trade from around the world.

Martin McLaughlin, 18, from Limavady is a self-employed tiler who completed his apprenticeship at the North West Regional College. He will compete in the Wall and Floor Tiling Competition at WorldSkills São Paulo from 11-16th August.

Adrian Canning, 22, from Dungiven, a self-employed electrician who completed his apprenticeship at the college. will compete in the Electrical Installation Competition. They are part of Team UK, which includes 14 members from N. Ireland, and also includes David McCay and Keith Wade, lecturers ar the NWRC.

Martin and Adrian will compete for 22 intensive hours over four days against the world’s top apprentices in their skill areas.
