Live nativity at Long Tower Church

Have your say

This year the Long Tower Church we will be celebrating Christmas in a very special way! To Mark the 2011th anniversary of Christ’s birth, they will be conducting a live nativity on Sunday 18th December.

The Youth Ministry team working across the parishes of St Eugene’s Cathedral, Holy Family, St Columba’s Long Tower, and St Mary’s Creggan, have worked together to make this event possible. The event will commence with a reinactment of the journey into Bethlehem with Joseph, Mary and a real life donkey making their way to the stable where Jesus was born. There will be an array of participants from choirs, & musicians through to parishioners young and old, who will be playing shepherds, Wise men, King Herod and many other roles.

What better way to bring this to life than with the re-telling of the greatest story ever told?

It’s believed this will be the first time a Live Nativity has been played out in Derry.

The event takes place at 5.45 p.m.
