Featured in Derry City and Strabane District Council’s ‘Out of this World’ Hallowe’en programme, the exhibit will run from Friday October 28 until Monday October 31 and will include spine-chilling sketches of all the horror greats from Frankenstein to Freddy Krueger.

As a stay at home dad, keen artist and comic lover, this will be Shaun McIntyre’s first official exhibit and a new addition to Council’s packed programme of events.

Shaun commented, “I have always had a keen interest in art, stemming from my love of comic books and heavy metal album covers.

“I’m thrilled to be part of Council’s programme this year. I was asked to submit a few drawings for a Hallowe’en Art Exhibition which has now turned into a solo exhibition of my work. As someone who’s been drawing from a young age, I’ve often called a human photo copier for my ability to sketch, this is exciting for me. I’m normally a stay at home dad and any spare time I do have I put into my artwork so this is a real opportunity and dream come true for me.”

Shaun added: “The horror exhibition will include sketches of a few classic horror stars, along with some other dark art that I have been working on. While it is horror related it is suitable for all ages and is free! I hope people enjoy it.”

The Garden of Reflection will host the ‘The Haunted Pencil’ exhibition on Friday October 28 and Saturday October 29 from 12.00noon until 8.00pm, Sunday October 30 from 2.00pm until 8.00pm and Monday October 31 from 12.00noon until 5pm.
