Big-hearted junior members at Fudoshin Karate Club in Greysteel have helped raise hundreds of pounds for a local charity for people with learning disabilities.
The local children, aged from five to 14, staged a sponsored walk to raise the funds for ArtSpace in Eglinton.
ArtSpace is a multi-sensory facility which caters for adults and children with learning disabilities.
Charlie Logue, Fudoshin Karate Club Secretary, said they were very proud of what the young people have done to help others in the community.
“They done a great job,” he said.
“They do something for charity every year and they look forward to it. Last year, it was for the Foyle Hospice.
“The parents would have helped out, too, accompanying them round the doors, and a few of the parents came on the sponsored walk as well.”
The sponsored walk took place in the Muff Glen area and a total of £322.14 was raised as a result of the effort made by the junior members of the club.
The money was handed over at the Vale Centre in Greysteel on Wednesday.
Junior members of the Fudoshin Shotokan Karate Club also received the medals and trophies they won at the annual awards presentation on Wednesday evening.
