A 22-year-old Limavady man who pleaded guilty to a drugs offence has been fined £350 at the local Magistrates Court.
Appearing at Limavady Magistrates Court last Wednesday was Thomas Philip Sheppard of Donald’s Way in the town. He was fined £200 for possession of of a Class B drug, namely herbal cannabis; and a further £150 for disorderly behaviour on Donald’s way. Both offences relate to August 8.
The court heard that on that date at 10.30hrs police attended an address in Limavady following an abandoned ‘999’ call. Sheppard was aggressive and agitated. Sheppard left the premises, shouting and swearing and was warned about his behaviour. The court heard herbal cannabis was found in a box, and that Sheppard admitted it was his and for his personal use.
Defence solicitor Don Mahoney told the Court, regarding the charge of disorderly bahaviour, it was the use of the ‘F’ word.
“That really was the height of it,” Mr. Mahoney told the court.
