Sinn Féin councillor Patricia Logue has congratulated the management and staff of the House in the Wells on the success of the centre’s new wet room.

Colr. Logue visited the centre with party colleague Colr. Colly Kelly for a performance by local singer songwriter, Declan McLaughlin, during the Other Voices weekend of music throughout the city.

“Since the introduction of the wet room last year, and particularly since the resumption of the school term local residents, workers and parents have been commenting on the difference this has had on the local community.

“Having spoken to some of the workers in the Wells, it is clear that they are also seeing a lot of benefits for the men themselves with this new policy. I know from talking to both staff and residents that this initiative was viewed as a high risk undertaking, but to date I have had nothing but positive feedback from everyone involved.

“I feel it is important that we put on record the community’s appreciation,” she said.
