Contractor damage left 4,000 homes and businesses without power in Derry this morning.
A spokesperson for Northern Ireland Electricity said a “cable strike” was to blame for the outage.
“Contractor damage to an underground electricity cable left around 4,000 homes and businesses without power in the Springtown Road area of the city this morning.
“NIE emergency repair teams responded immediately to make the area safe and restore power. The cable strike happened at 10.30am and all electricity supplies were restored by 11.50am,” the spokesperson added.
