A man armed with a knife and pepper spray has robbed a takeaway in Strabane.

It is the second time pepper spray has been used in a robbery in the town over the last four days.

In the latest incident, which happened at around 8pm last night, a man entered the takeaway at Bradley Way and demanded money before spraying the pepper spray into the face of the female member of staff.

It is understood he made off in the direction of the Mourne River.

On Saturday a masked man pepper sprayed a member of staff at a chemist shop on Beechmount Avenue during a robbery.
