Traffic calming measures for a number of streets in the Shantallow area of the city have been welcomed by Sinn Féin’s Sandra Duffy.
The measures will be introduced in the Ardnamoyle Park and Liscloon Drive areas of Shantallow.
Ms Duffy said the move would be welcomed by local residents.
The party representative, who is standing in the upcoming council elections, said; “Over the past twelve months Sinn Féin have been calling on DRD Road Service to carry out some traffic assessment at Ardnamoyle Park and Liscloon Drive on behalf of the residents who live there.
“DRD Roads Service have now confirmed that they will carry out traffic calming in those areas and that they will consult with residents on what type of measures that will be put in place.
“The lower end of Ardnamoyle Park at the bend beside Old School Lane will also be looked at, as many residents raised concerns over the years that there needs to be some kind of calming there.”
