Accused of stealing £40,000 from employers

A man is to stand trial at Derry Crown Court accused of stealing more than £40,000 from his employers.

Dean Andrew Nutt, of Hazlebank Drive, Drumahoe, faces two charges of theft from Travelex Bureau de Change, Lisnagelvin.

The charges relate to the alleged theft of £43,284 between July 22 and July 23, last year.

The 23-year-old declined to say anything in answer to the charges or to call any evidence.

Defence solicitor Seamus Quigley conceded his client had a prima facie caseent to answer.

Nutt was released on continuing bail and will appear at the Crown Court for arraignment on May 24.
