AGM of Culdaff F.C.

The Annual General Meeting of the Culdaff Football Club was held last week with a good turn out.

The following Officer Board have been elected Chairman: Brian McGonigle; Vice Chairman: Patrick McFeely; Secretary: Martin McGrenaghan; Assistant Secretary: Philip McLaughlin; Joint Treasurers: Neil Ruddy and D. O'Brien. All at the Club would like to congratulate Brian on his election as Chairman and thank Patrick for his efforts as Chairman. Membership fees are now due and are payable to team managers. Student rate is 20 euro while others is 30 euro and is very reasonably for the season.

Ceili Classes resume in the Wee Hall, Culdaff on Wednesday, 2nd September. New beginners very welcome. Dancing from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Admission including supper is 3 euro.

Entries are now being taken for the Charles Macklin Autumn School Poetry Competition for rules and entry form send SAE to Ann McDaid, Main Street, Culdaff. Closing date is the 25th September.

Culdaff FC have launched a grand development draw with a top prize of 10,000 euro to finish the flood lighting project with perimeter fencing. Tickets will be 20 euro each with a three for 50 euro offer available. Sellers will be called to all houses shortly and again we appeal for your continued support.

Fun soccer and youth football for boys and girls aged six to ten years of age is changed to Friday evenings in Caratra Park from 5 p.m. to 6.15 p.m. Ladies training continues as usual on Monday evenings at 8 p.m.

A charity dance in memory of Maureen O'Connor on Friday, 4th September in Foody's Lodge, Quigleys Point. Music by J. R. Country. Dancing 10 to 2 a.m. Tickets are 10 euro and can be got by telephoning 9374725. All proceeds to the Patient Home Comfort Fund.

The St. Vincent De Paul Annual Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Saturday, 12th September leaving Moville at 7.50 a.m. travelling via Gleneely, Carndonagh, Clonmany, Buncrana and Burnfoot. Bookings and details phone 0749773933.

Bocan Community Playgroup re-opens next Tuesday, September 1.

Back to School Scoil Naomh Mhuire, Gleneely reopens on Tuesday, 1st September Bocan.

Community Defibrillator Meeting in Bocan Hall on Thursday, 3rd September at 9 p.m.,followed by a refresher course in preparation for re-certification which will take place on the 7th September in The Glengad Community Centre from 7.30 p.m. onwards.

Good as New Shop is now open at Margaret Doherty's premises in Carndonagh. All proceeds are for the Bocan Development Fund. Please give your support.

Whilst winners in Bocan Hall on Friday night were 1, Mickey Doherty, Urris; 2, John Duffy, Derry; 3, Annie McColgan, Carn and John Doherty, Carrowmore. Tickets Ellen Ann Lafferty, Seamus Coyle, Anne McBride, Patricia Harkin. Other winners Gerard Doherty, Vera Deeny, Seamus Harkin. Snowball tonight is 50 euro for 188 or better.

Bocan Community Playgroup: A fund raising car wash will be held at the Go Shop, Culdaff on Saturday, 29th August from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. If you would be willing to help then come along on the day. It promises to be a fun day and all proceeds are for the Community Playgroup. Please come along and give your support.

Moville Health Centre Cervical Smear Clinic on Tuesday, 1st September between 9.30 a.m. to 12 noon. These will be the last of the Open Clinics where no appointment is necessary.

The numbers drawn in the Gleneely FC Lotto last week were: 16:17:20:21. There was no jackpot and the 20 euro winners were: Hugh Kelly, Glengad; Keith McLaughlin, Gleneely; Eimie McLaughlin c/o The Orchard; Hugh Kelly, Gleneely; Cian McNamee c/o The Orchard. Next week the jackpot is 2,600 euro and the draw will take place in Carrick's Bar on Sunday night at 10 p.m. Carndonagh.

Vintage and Classic Car Club are holding their second annual Vintage Rally at the Malin Road, Carndonagh on Sunday, 6th September starting at 12 noon. The numbers drawn in the Culdaff FC last week lotto were 1:2:3:6:7:13. There was no jackpot winner. The 20 euro winners were Ruth O'Brien; Stephen McCormick and Lorna McCormick, Bunagee. The jackpot is now 1050 euro. This weeks sellers are Martin McGrenaghan, Niall Gordon.

Gleneely Colts play Aileach at home on Friday night. Membership fees are now due and must be paid to Orlaith McNamee as soon as possible.
