Ardan Rd. sewer extension underway

editorial image

NI Water has announced that work will commence shortly on a £100,000 new sewer extension scheme on the Ardan Road at Culmore.

The work - to provide sewerage services for a new housing development - is scheduled to commence on Monday, November 19 and will last approximately three to four weeks. The works will take place from the entrance with Cranlee Park, past Hollybush Primary School, and will finish approximately 20 metres from the junction with Culmore Road.

In order to maintain traffic flow, it will be necessary to implement a one way system on the Ardan Rd between the Culmore Rd and the entrance to Cranlee Park. This one way closure will operate as follows:

* Traffic will only be able to enter Ardan Rd from the Culmore Rd.

* Traffic will not be able to exit Ardan Rd onto Culmore Rd.

* No parking will be allowed outside the school or within the turning circle for the duration of the works and cars will not be permitted to stop outside the school.

* To gain access to the Culmore Road, a diversion will be signposted via the Coney Rd and exiting onto the Culmore Rd at The Magnet Bar.

Customer queries should be directed to Waterline: 08457 440088.
