Accused of having stun gun

A Limavady man accused of a drugs charge has been bailed to return to Derry Crown Court later this month.

John Christopher Young, aged 24, of Enagh Park appeared at Limavady Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

He is charged with, on dates between January 11, 2010 and August 26, 2011, of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B, namely cannabis.

On August 25, 2011 he is also accused of being in possession of a weapon, a stun gun.

When asked if he objected to the holding of a preliminary enquiry in the charges he replied “no”. If asked if he had anything to say in answer to the charges, he said “not at this stage”.

District Judge Paul Copeland said he was satisfied the accused had a primie facia case to answer.

Young is due in
Derry Crown Court on February 26.
