Driver caused crash death

A Dungiven man has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a 20-year-old Dungiven woman in a car accident last year.

Kevin Michael Patrick Brolly, of Rannyglass, Dungiven, pleaded guilty yesterday at Derry Crown Court to causing the death of Claire Kelly (left) by careless driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Miss Kelly was a back seat passenger in Brolly’s car when the accident occurred on the Glenshane Road, Claudy, on December 11, last year.

Brolly (22) also admitted dangerous driving and being an uninsured driver causing death.

The court heard sentencing was adjourned until October 24 for a probation pre-sentence report and Brolly was disqualified from driving.
