Feeny charges

A man from Feeny in Co Derry has appeared at Derry Magistrate’s Court charged with damaging or destroying a police car by fire last Saturday.

James McLaughlin (29) of 594, Glenshane Road, Feeny was charged with damaging the police car on September 8 this year.

He also faced five charges of making threats to kill, attempting to damage or destroy a police vehicle by fire, possessing offensive weapons, namely petrol, a hurley bat and a golf club, and threatening to damage a window.

McLaughlin, who appeared in court with a bandage around his eye, was remanded in custody to appear again by videolink next Monday.
