Judge imposes anonymity order for man accused in cannabis case
A judge has imposed an anonymity order in the case of a man accused of possessing cannabis with intent to supply.
Deputy District Judge Amanda Henderson granted an application made by defence counsel Paddy MacDermott in relation to the case. He said that if his client’s details were published in the media there “would be a risk to him from paramilitaries in the city”.
The 26-year-old is charged with possessing the class B drug with intent to supply and simple possession of cannabis. He was released on bail to appear in court again at a later date, which also cannot be published.
