A woman accused of murdering her husband has been released into police custody to be questioned about alleged money laundering.

Suwei Shang, whose address is given on court papers as Francis Street, has been on remand since November last year accused of murdering her husband Damien Keenan.

Earlier today, an inspector for the PSNI applied to Derry Magistrate’s Court for the 39-year-old to be released into their custody to be questioned in relation to alleged money laundering.

The officer applied for Shang to be released into police custody for three days and a defence solicitor said there was no opposition to this.

District Judge Barney McElholm granted the application for the 39-year-old to be questioned by police until shortly before midday on Saturday.

He said she could be brought back any time before that but if it was on Saturday it would be a court sitting in Magherafelt.
