Derry’s Big Brother contestant, Conor McIntyre, was saved from eviction by a public vote for the third successive week on Friday.

The Hatmore man remains an outsider to win the reality television show with the bookies however. Paddy Power’s odds of 20/1 on Conor are the second longest odds on offer for any housemate. Despite that local support for fitness instructor Conor is growing. Over 3, 000 people have joined up to a ‘Team Mackers’ Facebook page, many subscribers have been posting screenshots of their mobile telephone displaying repeated calls to the Big Brother competition in support of Conor.

As Mr. McIntyre faced eviction on Friday, his mother, Siobhan and sister Clare travelled to London in the event of his elimination. “It was all good considering he survived again,” said his mother yesterday. “It is a lot of excitement so hopefully we’ll have a quiet week this week and he wont be nominated for a change.” Clare said: “When they evicted Shievonne I was a little shocked at the reaction. The live audience jeered everyone, they even shouted ‘Get Caroline out.’ I thought they were harsh. If Conor came out to boos he wouldn’t be that bothered though.” Siobhan said: “I hope I don’t have to go through the stress of getting someone over there on Friday (for the eviction show) it is madness. You are literally over and back it is all very rushed. I hope Connor can relax and have a little more fun now. Whatever happens after that, happens.”

Clare said: “Conor has been saved three times so hopefully his housemates wil learn not to nominate him.”
