Body recovered from Foyle

Police are appealing for information after a body was recovered from the River Foyle yesterday.
Police received a report of a body on the banks of the river at around 10:15am yesterday.
A police spokesperson said: “An unidentified body has been recovered and a post mortem will be carried out. At this stage the police are not treating the death as suspicious.”
The body is that of a male believed to be between 50 and 60 years old, he is approximately 5’ 10” tall with wispy reddish grey hair.
He was wearing a brown waxed jacket, blue jeans, blue and white checked shirt, black shoes and socks. He also had a set of dentures.
Police would appeal to anyone with information that can assist them with the identification of the body to contact them at Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
