BOOKIES MAKE DODDS FAVOURITE TO REPLACE ROBINSON
Ireland's largest bookmaker, Paddy Power, have reported robust betting on Northern Ireland's next First Minister.
DUP Deputy Leader, Nigel Dodds, is the bookies red-hot 6/5 favourite to take over the reins from beleaguered First Minister Peter Robinson followed by MP for East Antrim Sammy Wilson at 9/4 and Edwin Poots at 3/1.
Other names in the frame include Robin Newton at 10/1 and Jeffery Donaldson at 12/1. Less likely according to the bookmaker's odds is Rev Willie McCrea at massive odds of 500/1 and the lady of the moment Iris Robinson at even longer odds of 1,000/1.
Paddy Power also make the likelihood of a new Northern Ireland First Minister being appointed this year almost certain at odds of 1/2.
Paddy Power said "You could never accuse Northern Ireland politics of being dull in the past but this certainly raises the bar!"
