Ceili Mor in Bocan Hall tonight

There will be a Ceili Mor in Bocan Hall tonight with dancing from 10am to 1pm. Admission 5 euro, including supper and music by Martin Duggan. Old tyme dancing in the Wee Hall , Culdaff every second and fourth Thursday of the month.

Admission 5 euro with tea and biscuits. Great music from 8.30 p.m. to 10.30 p.m. also ceili classes every Wednesday from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Gleneely Colts FC will hold its annual Night at the Races in Carrick's Bar this Sunday night, 3rd May commencing at 9 p.m. Horses are on sale priced at 10 euro and are available from Committee members and football players. Your support would be greatly appreciated.

Gleneely Conservation Group are holding a dance in the Malin Hotel from 10 p.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets 5 euro or pay at the door. Sympathy is extended to Geraldine and John, sister and brother of the late Terence McCullagh, Glenkeen, Gleneely who died after a long illness and all family circle. May he rest in peace.

A trip is being organised for a weekend break in Scotland to visit the Highland Shows and a day trip to Edinburgh City which will take place from the 26th to 28th June. Badminton success congratulations to Darragh Folan on winning Division 2, Donegal under 11 singles competition. Dylan Doherty 4th and Carolan Folan 7th. The under 15 boys team who came second in Donegal Division 2 team event: Matt McDaid, Darragh McLaughlin and Oran Folan. Also congratulations to Claire Ruddy (under 17) Niamh McCullough (under 15) and Maria Duffy (under 13) who played in the winning Donegal Teams that played in the Ulster Juvenile League.

Deep regret has been occasioned by the death of Ann Donaghy, Effishmore, Gleneely after a long illness. The deceased was very well known and was held in highest esteem. Sympathy is extended to her sisters Sheila and Marilyn, her brother Eamon, her nephews and nieces and all the family circle. May her soul rest in peace. Burial took place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bocan.

Plans are well underway for the third annual Culdaff 5 km and Juvenile 1 mile road races on Friday, 15th May. There will be 100 euro on offer for the first male athlete to break the course record of 16.36 set by Declan McCarthy in 2007. A further 50 euros is up for grabs if the record breakers can get under 15 minutes and 40 seconds. Similarly the first female athlete to break the course of 18.14 set by Helena Crossan in 2007 will received 100 euro and also with a further 50 euro on offer for the woman to break 17 mins and 30 seconds. There will be the usual prizes for all age groups categories in both the 5 km and juvenile 1 mile with all finishers receiving a goody bag for their efforts. Children must be aged between 11 and 16 years. The action gets underway at 7.30 p.m. with the juvenile 1 mile while the 5 km is set for 7.45 p.m. All levels of walkers, joggers and runners are very welcome to take part. Registration is from 6 p.m. in the Wee Hall in Culdaff.

Fun soccer for boys and girls aged 6 to 10 years of age will commence on Saturday mornings 9th May in Caratra Park, Culdaff from 10.30 a.m. to 12 noon. Only children who are six and over are eligible to attend.

Lotto Numbers drawn in the Culdaff FC weekly lotto on Monday, 20th April were 1:3:4:6:12:13. There was no jackpot winner. The 20 euro winners were: Eugenie McGonigle, Terrawee; Philip McLaughlin; James Boyce. This weeks jackpot is now 400 euro and the draw takes place in the Culdaff Arms on Monday.

Gleneely Colts training continues as usual on Wednesday and Friday nights.

The annual General Meeting will be held in the Clubhouse on Saturday, 16th May at 6 p.m. All are welcome.
