Christy Moore to perform for Dalai Lama in Derry

Legendary Irish troubadour Christy Moore will perform in Derry to mark the visit to the city of His Holiness, 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet.

Moore will perform at the Venue in Ebrington on April 18, at the special concert organised by Derry charity Children in Crossfire.

Richard Moore, Director of Children in Crossfire said, “We are delighted that Christy Moore has agreed to be part of our ‘Culture of Compassion’ event. Christy is a fantastic ambassador for Irish music and indeed for a culture of compassion.”

Christy Moore added, “I am honoured to have been invited to take part in Children in Crossfire’s ‘Culture of Compassion’ event. His Holiness, the Dalai Lama is a spiritual leader who knows and understands the power of compassion, healing and forgiveness.

“I am also delighted to be associated with such a wonderful organisation that is doing fantastic work helping vulnerable children in other parts of the world.”

Colm Mac Con Iomaire (violinist from iconic Irish band- The Frames), Rainbow School of Dance, Encore Contemporary Choir and The Longtower Folk Group amongst others, will also be performing.
