Clean-up follows night of heavy flooding

A clean-up operation is underway this morning after heavy rain caused serious flooding across the North West.

Residents of Derry's Letterkenny Road blocked the road to stop traffic pushing water into their homes, while the Glenshane Road, Balllyquinn Road, Berryhill Road and Victoria Road were also been badly affected.

Areas of the main Derry to Strabane route, including Magheramason and Bready were also left under several feet of water as the torrential rains fell.

The Met Office had issued a severe weather warning.
