Consider yourself an actor? Auditions open tomorrow

Could you be Oliver or the Artful Dodger or one of the orphans? One of Fagin's thieves? Or even the evil Fagin himself?

Could you be the Widow Corney? Or the murderous Bill Sikes? If you think you could be any of these characters come along to St. Mary's Hall tomorrow where they are currently casting boys and/or girls age 8 - 11 years and adults for a new musical production of 'Oliver' to be performed in October/November. A day of meditation will take place on Saturday, 31st May at 5 St Mary's Road in Buncrana from 10am-4pm. The day will introduce a variety of meditation practices to relax the body, still the mind, accept feelings and centre us in a place of inner wisdom. The day will be facilitated by Noel Bradley and Julie Brown, both experienced in meditation and will cost 40 euro. Booking is essential and a light lunch will be provided. As part of Donegal Walking Week a four mile walk along the Trady Embankment at Inch Level will take place this Sunday at 2 p.m. The entire walk is within the wildlife conservation area and is suitable for all, including those with buggys.

The walk starts at 2 p.m. at the car park at Inch Level (at the Slab Road from Burt Chapel) and follows a four mile loop, finishing around 4 p.m. Contact Dec McCallion, 086 1080095 for details and registration.

A weekend workshop, 'Greening with Life' will be held at the Centre for Peace and Reconciliation, Linsfort from today until 25 May. Senior dance teachers from Holland, Noor McGuigan and Akbar Helweg will lead the workshop. The Inishowen Organic Group, in association with the National Organic Training Skillnet is hosting an information evening on all aspects of Organic farming from production to outlets in McGrory's, Culdaff next Wednesday 28th. Speakers will include Elaine Leavy, Teagasc, Kevin Hickey, North West Organic, John Brennan, Leitrim Farmers Co-op and Sean McGloin, NOTS. Admission which includes a meal is 10 euro. A photo exhibition by Andy McInroy will be held at Fort Dunree on Saturday 31st May at 2 p.m. Andy's exhibition features a series of images of the beautiful granite of Urris as well as a darker look at the old fort buildings of Dunree. For further inromation contact Artlink, 9363469.

Buncrana Senior Citizens' Commitee is urgently looking for voluntary drivers for the meals-on-wheels service. Meals are delivered on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Drivers are especially needed for Sundays. It only takes approximately an hour and a half and drivers are on an eight week rota system. Please contact Jim Henderson, 9361666

Children from Scoil Iosagain in Buncrana will present a concert to celebrate the many different nationalities within the school. Children from Ireland, Poland, Latvia, Bhutan, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Spain and many more will perform dances, songs and poems from their countries. Old Time and Ceili dancing is held every Wednesday from 8.30 - 10.30 p.m. in Desertegney Parish Hall

The Inishowen Athletics' Club trains on Wednesdays in the Leisure Centre at 7 p.m. for children 8 years and over.

Aquafit classes are also held in the Leisure Centre every Wednedsay at 8 p.m. ages 16+. No swimming ability is required and all welcome.
