Ministers to visit Derry
Two Stormont Ministers will be in Derry this week to visit local community and voluntary organisations.
Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy will be in the city today to visit a number of community projects. On Wednesday, the Minister of Agriculture, Michelle Gildernew will visit the Mullabuoy Centre in Lettershandoney.
Foyle Sinn Fin MLA Martina Anderson said it was important that both Ministers will be meeting with community groups during their visits to the city.
“I welcome the news that the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Michelle Gildernew and Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy will be visiting various projects in the city over the next two days. Its important that the ministers see at first hand the issues that are affecting our local communities”
“I have lobbied the Ministers hard over recent weeks on several issues covering the needs of people living and working in rural areas, residents parking, and regeneration for the Creggan area. I also raised concerns from Disability Action on a number of issues after I met with the group several weeks ago, so I am pleased Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy will be meeting with them on his visit to the city,” she said.
Conor Murphy will be visiting Creggan Neighbourhood Partnership, Dove House and Disability Action during his trip to Derry while Michelle Gildernew will be visiting the Mullabouy Centre in Lettershandoney on Thursday.
