Derry hits it big once again with Lottery win
Derry has hit it lucky yet again with another lottery win.
A Derry ticket-holder has snapped up more than £1 million in the National Lottery.
It’s believed the lucky man, from the Brandywell area of the city, was one of two winners who matched six numbers in last Wednesday’s draw - scooping a cool £1,186,204.
It’s understood Camelot will announce details of the latest win at a press conference this morning.
Meanwhile, the identity of the lucky winner of €5.48m euro from a ticket purchased at the Top Shop Filling Station in Killea on the Donegal/Derry border last week remains cloaked in mystery.
Locals, however, believe the Lotto winner may be from Derry.
Store manager Manoj Rana says: “People have been saying that a man from Derry won but we have had no confirmation of that.
“It is just rumours,” he said.
It’s almost four years since Derry had one of its biggest ever lotto winners. Ryan Magee scooped £6.4 million in the Euromillions after buying 11 tickets in four different towns across the North.
One of his first purchases was a top-of-the-range Ferrari.
