Derry followers to meet the 'Hugging Saint'

People from Derry and Donegal will be travelling to Dublin this month to meet Sri Mata Amritanandamayi, known as Mother Amma, or the 'Hugging Saint'.

In the past 30 years, Amma has hugged more than 29 million people from every corner of the globe.

Mother Amma will be in Dublin on Saturday, October 16 and Sunday, October 17 at the National Show Centre, close to Dublin airport.

Amma is known throughout the world as a humanitarian and spiritual leader.

According to her followers, meeting Amma “is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with one's own spirit in the presence of one of the greatest souls of our time”.

“Amma makes herself available to everyone who wants to meet her in person - comforting, consoling and uplifting thousands of people day after day. Holding each and everyone close to her heart in a tender embrace, Amma showers her boundless love on all, regardless of their beliefs”.

The programme is free of charge and all money raised through donations or food sales goes to Amma’s charities.

For full details of the programme including times of inspirational talks, darshan (meeting Amma for a hug), as well as details of accommodation locally and car pooling, check out the website: www.ammaireland.org.

Buses leave from Foyle Street in Derry every two hours from 6.15am on October 16 and 17 to Dublin airport.
