A 57-year-old woman has appeared in court accused of stealing over £7000 from her employers.

Hazel Gardiner, of Glenrandel, Eglinton, faces one charge of theft by an employee.

It is alleged she stole £7,339 from Dunnes Stores Ltd between June 4, 2011 and May 25, this year.

An investigating officer told Derry Magistrates Court he believed he could connect Gardiner to the charge.

The 57-year-old was released in continuing bail and banned from entering Dunnes Stores, Foyleside.

She will appear in court again on December 6.
