Fire at school’s new site

An investigation has been launched after a fire broke out on the site for the planned new Foyle College.

Around 20 fire-fighters were needed to bring the fire - which broke out at 8pm on Sunday - under control at the former Clooney army base.

The site is the proposed new home for Foyle College and Ebrington Primary School.

It is understood a number of derelict portable buildings were damaged in last night’s fire.
