Funding Secured for New Destination Donegal Tourism Website

The Donegal Tourism Sector received a boost with the announcement that funding has been secured for the development of a brand new tourism website aimed at promoting County Donegal as a world-class visitor destination.

Donegal Tourism Ltd successfully secured funding from Donegal County Council and ERNACT under the TGN4P Project of the EU’s Northern Periphery Programme (NPP).

The development of the new website is well under way and it is hoped it will launch at the end of February 2013.

Donegal County Council Tourism Development Officer, Kevin O’Connor, commented:“I am delighted to be working on such an exciting project.

“The Donegal tourism sector has been working extremely hard over the last number of years on establishing a reputation as a high-quality, value for money, family visitor destination.

“The development of this new online identity will complement this and the various marketing and promotional activities that our tourism providers are engaged in on a day-to-day basis.”

“Govisitdonegal.com will provide a platform for all providers from accommodation to activity centres, restaurants and pubs to visitor and cultural attractions to showcase their products and services.

“The website will drive business directly to the providers by capitalising on the extremely successful Donegal brand.”

All tourism providers will have the opportunity to set up a listings page on the site and can register by visiting www.govisitdonegal.com .
