Helen Toland of Carndonagh, is making a radio programme about Pope John Paul II's visit to Ireland in 1979 and is presently looking for contributors. "I'm looking for people who have great stories or reflections on that time, people who were closely involved and people who just have a good perspective on what was the biggest event in Ireland at that time. Do you remember when the Pope came to Ireland? Were you one of the hundreds of thousands who turned out to see him? Do you have photos, film footage, souvenirs that you'd like to share? Were you named John Paul after the event? Or do you have a story related to the visit? I don't mind if your story is funny, sad or even seemingly irrelevant... So long as it is in some way related to Ireland at that time or the visit of the Pope. Or maybe you know somebody who was involved or who was there and they have stories to tell of that time? I'd love if you would get in touch if you'd like to be involved or pass on my email address to anybody else you think might be interested. helentoland@hotmail.com
