Girl dies in horse riding accident

A 13 year-old girl has died in a horse riding accident near Derry.

The girl, who is believed to be from Tyrone, died following an accident in Eglinton. It is understood she was taking part in a showjumping competition when the incident happened on Friday evening.

The Health and Safety Executive is investigating the incident.

There are no further details at this stage.
