Help Derry's Kayleigh on the way to stardom!

"Vote for me and vote for Ireland," says Kayleigh O'Reilly, the only Irish girl to make it into the final six from a staggering 11,000 hopefuls in a prestigious London model competition.

With voting lines closing this Tuesday, February 26, local people are urged to cast that all-important vote that could see the modest St. Mary's College pupil achieve her greatest ambition - a career in modelling as the new face of 'Sugar' magazine.

Kayleigh is currently in the lead on the 'Sugar' website with 8467 hits and she's counting on local people to help make her dream come true.

"I'm feeling great about everything so far," 16-year-old Kayleigh told the 'Journal, "The feedback from everyone I've met and talked to so far has been brilliant and everybody seems to be as excited as I am about all this! I was even asked to talk on Highland Radio earlier about the competition and I was so nervous."

Kayleigh is one of six finalists vying to become the 2008 Sugar/Rimmel London Model in the annual competition and says it would be a "dream come true" for her to be a model.

If she won, she would be in with the chance of a modelling contract with top agency Independent, which represents the likes of Elizabeth Jagger and supermodel Erin O'Connor.

In fact, the director of Independent, Ellis, was so impressed upon seeing Kayleigh her that she described her as "a true Irish beauty."

Kayleigh thanked all those who have already voted for her and urged others to vote before the competition ends on Tuesday.

"Of all the people who applied, they chose six finalists, three girls from England, one from Glasgow and me from Northern Ireland, so please vote for me and vote for Ireland," she said, "They said they'll let me know in March who won, but a big thanks to everyone who has supported me and voted."

"All my friends and family said that voted for me and they're all rooting for me to get through, so we just have to wait and see what happens now," she added.

Marie Lindsay, Principal of St. Mary's College, said she's confident that Kayleigh will be a winner.

"Kayleigh has great potential. She is a beautiful girl in every way and I believe that she will be very successful regardless of the outcome."

Readers can help transform Kayleigh's life forever by casting those votes! Log onto: www.sugarscape.com/vote. Voting closes at midnight on Tuesday.

The winner will be announced in a future issue of 'Sugar' magazine and on www.sugarscape.com.
