Housing survey in Glen area
dj news
A survey will be carried out in the Glen area of the city to collect information for a Housing Executive maintenance scheme.
Announcing details of the survey, Foyle Sinn Féin MLA Maeve McLaughlin said it would help identify which properties are most in need of repair.
“An External Cyclic Maintenance is a planned maintenance scheme designed to repair or replace defective external elements in a dwelling. Generally it applies to roofs, external walls, windows, external doors and frames and redecoration. The extent of the work is determined by conditions identified through a survey.
“The survey for the scheme that includes Glenbrae Gardens is being conducted by the Housing Executive and will take place in the next few months. I see this work as a wider part of much needed improvement schemes and redevelopment of the Glen area which will include a new community facility and much needed new housing provision. I believe these plans offer a great opportunity to help the regeneration of this part of Rosemount and should also be used to help upgrade existing street lighting, footpaths and green spaces in the surrounding areas.”
