'I love coming to Derry' - Daniel O'Donnell
Derry's Millennium Forum was a hive of activity on Wednesday as thousands of Daniel O'Donnell fans waited in anticipation to see the Donegal crooner who performed a one night only sell-out show in the city.
Adoring fans, who had waited for hours at the city centre venue, were treated to a non-stop four hour concert where the easy listening star performed some of his biggest hits including the famous Derry air Danny Boy.
In an exclusive interview with the Journal, Daniel said he was thrilled to be back in Derry.
"I absolutely love coming to Derry. The fans here are just great," he said. "I have many happy memories of having played in The Rialto over the years and everyone here is so warm."
Speaking ahead of a tour of New Zealand and Australia, Daniel, who stills spends a lot of time in Kincasslagh, said he loves returning home.
"It's a really special feeling being back in the North West and a pleasure performing to the crowd in the Millennium Forum."
Hear what Daniel thinks about Susan Boyle, The X-Factor and Derry being crowned UK City of Culture in the full interview, with exclusive photos, in this Sunday's Journal.
