In Pics - ‘Annies’ - you did city proud

Waiting for Video...

The people of Derry, the wider North West and by all accounts much further afield showed their truly amazing community spirit yesterday when they turned out in their thousands to put the city into the record books yet again.

The city was buzzing as the crowds made their way into Ebrington Square from the cityside along the Peace Bridge, and Waterside for the World Record attempt for the largest number of Annies to do a song and dance routine.

And it was all for Foyle Hospice.

The lengthy queues to verify the record breaking numbers were no barrier to the festive atmosphere in the Square - the place was absolutely buzzing.

Every single person, young and old, who made it possible deserves the highest of praise. You all did the City of Culture proud.

Take a bow one and all!
