Investigation launched at Western Trust site

Police in Derry have confirmed that an investigation has been launched into an alleged incident within a Western Trust facility.

The Journal had received a call earlier this week claiming that police had been called to investigate an incident on the Gransha site related to a “vulnerable adult” as early as Tuesday.

However as late as yesterday evening police stated no official complain had been received.

In a statement issued today, a spokesperson for the PSNI said: “PSNI can now confirm we have received a formal complaint in relation to an alleged incident within a Western Trust facility and an investigation is underway.”
