Journal reporter Julieann Campbell appeared on Ireland’s top chat show on Friday night to promote her new book, which tells the fascinating story of the Bloody Sunday Justice Campaign.

Julieann and fellow journalists Eamonn McCann and Peter Taylor, along with relatives of some of the dead, appeared on ‘The Late Late Show’, fronted by Ryan Tubridy.

The prime time RTE programme featured a wider focus on the 40th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, with several special guests invited to discuss the impact of the events of January 30, 1972 and its key place in Irish history.

The book, published by Liberties Press in Dublin, is due to be launched in Derry on Wednesday night at An Culturlann.

‘Setting the Truth Free’ is the first-ever account of the Bloody Sunday Justice Campaign as told by the campaigners, relatives and the wounded themselves.

It tells the story of how ordinary people achieved the impossible and unwittingly made history.

Determined to clear their loved ones’ names, the group took on the might of the British government - and won.

‘Setting the Truth Free: The Inside Story of the Bloody Sunday Justice Campaign’ is available in all good bookshops, at the offices of the Derry Journal and at Text to display
