Man arrested in relation to attack on 96 year old woman

Gardai are remaining tight-lipped about the arrest of a man, which took place overnight, in relation to an attack and robbery of an 96 year old woman outside Buncrana in the early hours of last Saturday morning

The man who is being detained is 48 years of age and was arrested in Burt under the Criminal Justice Act.

No other details of the arrest have yet been released.

A spokesman for the Garda Press Office said they expect to issue a statement on the matter shortly.
